I was born and raised in Beaver, Utah and have affectionately called Saint George home for the past 33 years. I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade. My early years of teaching were spent in West Valley, Utah and Preston, Idaho. After moving to Saint George, I taught 2nd grade at Washington Elementary and then opened Riverside Elementary. I like to call Riverside “my school” because I helped build the foundation that has become an amazing place for students to feel valued, loved, and a safe place to learn and grow. It has been my second home and I truly love all of the wonderful families, students, and faculty that I get to work with each day.
I am married to my wonderful husband Brant. He is a Zion Shuttle Bus driver and will tell you lots of details about the park if you get to ride on his bus.
We are the proud parents of 4 children and 6 grandchildren that we love spending time with.They bring us so much joy! Our family loves education. My husband has a degree in Flight Technology, our oldest son Dyllen, is the concurrent enrollment director for the state of Utah and his wife is currently earning a Doctorate degree. Derek, our second son, has a degree in drafting and currently works for Folded Metal and our youngest daughter Tasha, just graduated from the University of Utah and is applying for PA school. Tiara has the most important degree of all and that is being a mother to her three small children. She did an internship her senior year at Riverside in 2nd grade and loves all of the teachers that had such a great influence on her in her early years of learning. My three youngest children were all educated at Riverside Elementary and the strong foundation and love of learning that our Riverside family gave them is priceless.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and currently am LETRS certified.
In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, walks with friends and family, hiking, biking, 4 wheeling, camping, fishing, scrapbooking, baking, and going to movies.
I love everything about children and feel privileged to work with them each day. Their daily smiles, hugs, and hard work warm my heart. I love the magic that you can create in education; a safe space where children feel loved, seen, and confident to try. I get to build that space. A space for their lifelong love for learning. That’s what Riverside is all about!

I was born in El Salvador, grew up in Placentia, California, and have proudly called St. George, Utah, home for the past 29 years. Throughout my teaching career, I have had the joy of teaching preschool, second grade, third grade and this year kindergarten.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Southern Utah University and hold endorsements in Early Childhood, Reading, ESL, and Gifted and Talented Education, along with an Administrative license.
I am so thankful to be part of the Riverside family. And feel incredibly blessed to have spent 24 years as an educator. I truly love teaching, learning, and feel fortunate to do what I love each day.
Outside of school, I enjoy visiting Disneyland, spending time at the beach, traveling, and making memories with my family. I am married to my wonderful husband, Al, and have two amazing sons, two wonderful daughter-in-laws, and a precious granddaughter.
My goal as an educator is to create a loving, safe, and welcoming classroom where every child feels loved, seen, valued, and capable. I believe that when children feel supported and cared for, they can develop a lifelong love of learning and reach their full potential.
I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories together. I truly am grateful to be part of the Riverside family!
